Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team led by Dr. Anand Mhatre, Assistant Professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge research in the areas of assistive technology service provision, outcomes, and implementation.
The Post Doctoral Scholar will collaborate with the RED Lab researchers and AT Center clinicians to complement existing research lines, translate research findings into clinically meaningful insights, and initiate a new line of research in assistive technology service provision or new technology development. The Post Doctoral Scholar is expected to publish articles, submit grants, and present research findings at leading conferences. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with Dr. Mhatre on the PERFORMANCE project, focusing on implementing new technology to support periodic follow-up, repair, and maintenance of wheelchairs in the clinic environment.
This is a full-time position based in Columbus, Ohio, with an initial appointment of two years and the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. The Post Doctoral Scholar will be primarily based in the Assistive Technology Research Center at Martha Morehouse and will work closely with Dr. Mhatre’s research team and the physical and occupational therapists at the AT Center. The position includes a competitive salary and benefits through Ohio State.
Job Requirements
PhD in rehabilitation science or assistive technology, or a research doctorate in a related field; Demonstrated expertise in interdisciplinary research with technical and clinical teams and patients; Publications in leading assistive technology journals.
Desired qualifications include background in engineering, rehabilitation technology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or a related health science field; Experience in new product or process design, development, testing, and implementation in the clinical and community environment; prior clinical or industry experience.
