Woodwork Machinist

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Edgebander / Woodwork Machinist to join our production team in Stourport. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating woodworking machinery, primarily edgebanders, to produce high-quality joinery and furniture components. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in woodworking, CNC, or panel processing who takes pride in precision and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Operate edgebander machinery to apply edging to panels according to specifications.

Set up, adjust, and maintain woodworking machines (e.g., panel saws, routers, sanders).

Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and finish standards.

Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists.

Handle and prepare various materials including MDF, laminate, veneer, and solid wood.

Perform basic machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Work collaboratively with production and assembly teams to ensure smooth workflow.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to company H&S procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience operating edgebanders or woodworking machinery

Understanding of panel processing and joinery manufacturing

Ability to read drawings and measure accurately

Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Forklift licence or machine training (advantageous but not essential)

Hours of Work:

Monday - Friday.

8ampm

Rate of Pay:

£13 - £14 per hour.
