Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, architectural, or civil disciplines. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of professional experience in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and project budgeting preferably with exposure to U.S. college and university projects, particularly in California. This role will play a key part in developing accurate cost assessments, supporting sustainable project designs, and ensuring financial efficiency in all phases of construction planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid documents for mechanical, electrical, architectural, or civil works.

Perform quantity take-offs (QTO) and material cost analysis using industry-standard software and methodologies.

Collaborate with design and engineering teams to align project costs with technical and sustainability goals.

Review construction drawings and specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Support U.S.-based project teams, especially in the higher education sector (colleges/universities in California).

Conduct value engineering and life-cycle cost analysis to enhance project sustainability and efficiency.

Ensure all cost data and estimates comply with international and local standards.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in cost estimating or quantity surveying.

Proven experience with U.S. higher education or institutional projects, ideally in California.

Familiarity with sustainable construction practices, LEED, or equivalent frameworks preferred.

Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in cost estimating and QTO software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, CostX, RSMeans, etc.).

Excellent communication and coordination skills in an international project environment.
