Title: Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Adjunct Agency: Mountain Gateway Community College Location: Alleghany - 005 FLSA: Exempt Hiring Range: $778 - $1200 / credit hour depending on years of experience and education Full Time or Part Time: Part Time Additional Detail Job Description: Mountain Gateway Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia.

The college is supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia; the counties of Alleghany, Bath, Botetourt (northern portion) and Rockbridge; the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, and Lexington; and the town of Clifton Forge.

Teach assigned Electrical and Instrumentation courses and associated labs in accordance with college's workload policy; provide students with course materials including syllabus, grading/attendance policy, and other relevant information in a timely manner; participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes; establish, maintain and submit accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, applied technology, or related field from a recognized, accredited college or university.

* Knowledge of industrial electricity and instrumentation practices, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and the National Electric Code is required.

* Demonstration of teaching effectiveness is part of the on-campus interview.

Additional Considerations: * Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field is preferred.

* Industrial maintenance experience, OSHA training, and National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER)- based training (or similar) are preferred.

* Successful college-level teaching experience is preferred, as well as an aptitude for using technology in instructional delivery, familiarity with general education assessment, and a willingness to deliver courses online.
