The Opportunity
Join CAPA's finance team and help support the arts with your unique talents. You'll play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the nonprofit organizations that enrich Central Ohio's cultural community.
Primary Function
We are seeking a staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions for CAPA and will perform similar duties for nonprofit organizations that are managed by CAPA.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Performance ObjectivesKey Responsibilities
Cash & Payables: Complete monthly bank reconciliations, monitor daily cash activity, and oversee accounts payable processing.
Month-End & General Accounting: Prepare journal entries and maintain schedules for general ledger accounts.
Financial Reporting: Assist with monthly financial statements.
Audit & Compliance: Prepare audit schedules and assist with non-profit tax filings and grant reporting, periodically.
Budget & Projects: Support the annual budget process and contribute to special projects and process improvements, as needed.Key Performance Objectives
Ensure timely accounts payable processing, paying invoices within 10 days of due dates 98% of the time.
Manage company month-end close schedules to meet agreed-upon timelines.
Provide audit support for shared service partners, generally responding to audit requests within 48 hours of receipt.Additional Duties
Meet with supervisor, department leaders, shared service management, and others to understand interactions with the accounting department and this role, specifically. Collaborate with finance team to improve, document, and share best practices within the department.

Ability to work independently with little supervision and be committed to completing tasks on a timely basis.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Knowledge of accounting concepts and proficiency in standard office computer software.Credentials and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related coursework is required.
2-3 years' accounting experience in an office environment is preferred; experience in a non-profit accounting role is a plus.Special Requirements
