Job Title: Construction InspectorJob Description We are seeking a Construction Inspector to provide oversight of contractor activities on various projects throughout Central Ohio.
This role requires ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes for the construction of streets, stormwater systems, sanitary sewers, and waterlines.
While prior inspection experience is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement.
However, applicants must possess prior construction experience or knowledge, such as understanding blueprints and working on a job site.
Responsibilities + Conduct daily inspections of construction activities related to streets, stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer systems, and waterline installations.
+ Monitor contractor work for compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and regulatory standards.
+ Verify proper materials, installation techniques, and workmanship.
+ Maintain detailed field notes, inspection logs, and photographic records.
+ Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports summarizing progress, issues, and corrective actions.
+ Communicate findings to project managers, engineers, and contractors.
Essential Skills + Experience in construction, including reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
+ Knowledge in construction inspection, materials testing, and engineering.
+ High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
+ OSHA 10 certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma.
+ Prior construction inspection experience is preferred.
+ OSHA or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Work Environment The Construction Inspector will primarily work on job sites, specifically on a subdivision construction project in Lithopolis, OH.
