Director Regulatory Affairs - Chemical Products, CPG, Global
This is a HYBRID 3x onsite a week role and you must be able to work from one of our office locations. This role does require travel to different locations domestic and international.
Locations: Milton, ON, Danbury, CT, Rosemont, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Freehold, NJ, or Alsip, IL.
Position Overview
The Director of Regulatory Affairs will lead global regulatory strategies for chemical products within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, overseeing product registration processes, and implementing effective labeling compliance strategies that align with global standards.
We are looking for a strategic leader that has built out regulatory affairs functions for global organizations. We do not have a cohesive system currently and this role will include building it out.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement global regulatory strategies for chemical products in the CPG sector.
Lead risk assessments to evaluate regulatory impacts on product development and marketing.
Ensure compliance with labeling regulations and standards across various markets.
Oversee the product registration process, ensuring timely submissions and approvals from regulatory authorities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide regulatory guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
Manage the preparation and submission of regulatory documents and responses to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
Monitor and interpret changes in environmental regulations that may impact product compliance.
Lead and mentor the regulatory affairs team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs within the chemical product industry or CPG sector.
Strong knowledge of global regulatory requirements and standards for chemical products.
Experience with risk assessment methodologies and their application in product development.
Proven track record of successful regulatory submissions and product registrations.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and their implications for product compliance.
RAPS certification or similar professional recognition is highly desirable.
Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
