Position Summary:

The Dual Enrollment Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, college-level curriculum to eligible high school students within the Winona-Montgomery School District. The teacher will collaborate closely with a partner college or university to ensure all course standards, academic requirements, and learning outcomes are met. The teacher will also teach high school level subject area curriculum.

Key Responsibilities for Dual Enrollment Classes:

Teach college-level courses to high school students, adhering to the curriculum, syllabus, and academic rigor established by the partnering institution of higher learning.

Provide regular, substantive interaction with students to promote a successful and engaging learning environment.

Work with WMCSD staff and the partner college to manage student enrollment, attendance, and record-keeping.

Submit student grades by the academic deadlines set by the college.

Attend all mandatory workshops, training sessions, and faculty evaluations as required by both WMCSD and the partnering college.

Communicate effectively and frequently with the partner college's department chair and high school administrators.

Serve as a mentor, guiding students through the transition to a collegiate academic environment.

Key Responsibilities for High School Classes:

Deliver high school-level curriculum to students in subject area classes.

Other duties as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:

Education: A Master's degree in the subject area to be taught; 18 content hours

Experience: Previous teaching experience at the secondary or collegiate level is preferred.

Certification: Hold an active, valid Mississippi educator license with the appropriate subject endorsement, as required by the Mississippi Department of Education.

Approval: Must be approved as a dual enrollment instructor by the partner college or university's Chief Academic Officer.

Background Check: Must pass background check.
