The Multicultural Association of Fredericton (MCAF) is a dynamic not-for-profit organization with an annual budget of over $9 million and a team of 120 staff. Our mandate is to celebrate strength in diversity by empowering newcomers to succeed and fostering full community participation. We deliver settlement services, language training, and a wide range of supports that promote cultural diversity in the Fredericton area.
The Opportunity
The Director of Administration will co-lead major organizational projects in partnership with the Director of Client Services, ensuring alignment with the Board of Directors’ strategic priorities. This is a new role created to strengthen MCAF’s administrative and operational systems. The Director of Administration will oversee MCAF’s finance, procurement and inventory, human resources, and IT functions, while also jointly managing large-scale projects as determined by the Board.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight of financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and risk management.
Lead procurement and inventory systems to ensure value, transparency, and controls.
Oversee human resources (workforce planning, recruitment, performance, policy, and employee relations).
Direct information technology strategy, systems, security, and vendor management.
Co-lead select large-scale organizational projects with the Director of Client Services.
Drive operational excellence and accountability across administrative functions.
Contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth; present analysis and recommendations to the President and Board.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred (e.g., Business, Human Resource Management, International Development, Human Rights).
Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience working with diverse communities.
Proven track record leading complex administrative functions in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and change management skills, with empathy and adaptability at the core.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 (depending on qualifications and experience).
Probationary Period: Six months. Compensation will be reviewed following successful completion of probation.
During Probation (First 6 Months): Employee is not eligible for MCAF benefits but will receive 4% vacation pay, included in every paycheck.
Post-Probation Benefits: Upon successful completion of probation, the employee will become eligible for:
Paid vacation and sick days as per MCAF policy.
Health insurance.
Employer contributions of 5% to an RRSP.
Professional Development: Supported by MCAF.
Terms of Employment
Contract Length: 1-year contract, with the possibility of renewal.
Probationary Period: 6 months.
Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Hybrid and remote options are not available.
Start Date: November 2025 (if possible).
Conditions: Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance required.
