Talent & Culture Manager

Location: Montreal

Industry: Consumer Goods (Retail)

Status: Full-Time Monday–Friday 2x WFH per week

Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM

Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000/year (based on experience) + RRSP + bonus + group insurance + more!

Overview

We’re seeking an experienced HR leader to take charge of talent management and workplace culture across our retail operations. With 17+ stores in 4 countries, the Talent & Culture Manager plays a pivotal role in both supporting daily HR needs and driving long-term growth.

This role centers on building strong partnerships with Store Managers, Regional Directors, and head office to foster a high-performance culture that prioritizes people, engagement, and development.

Employee Support & Culture

Act as a trusted partner to store leadership on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee relations.

Promote a people-first culture that strengthens engagement and reflects brand values.

Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S labor laws and internal policies

Strategy & Engagement

Shape and implement HR strategies aligned with retail business goals.

Track data on turnover, engagement, and performance; leverage insights to drive improvements.

Lead employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team-building events.

️ Talent & Onboarding

Partner with store leaders and recruiters to define talent needs and oversee the hiring process.

Lead onboarding for new Store Managers to ensure a smooth transition and strong integration.

Performance & Development

Manage the performance review cycle, supporting Store Managers in evaluating and growing their teams.

Foster a culture of continuous feedback and professional growth.

Drive succession planning and mobility within the retail network.

Background & Skills

Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or CPHR designation a plus).

5+ years HR experience, including multi-site or retail environments.

Strong understanding of employment law, workplace safety, and HR compliance.

Knowledge of US labor laws is a strong asset.

Skilled in performance management, employee relations, and sensitive discussions.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Passion for retail, fashion, or lifestyle brands is a plus.
