About you and your new role…
Your leadership experience in the mental health or community services sector will be of great value in this role as well as your hands on experience in working within a mental health or equivalent community-based role.
The Team Leader - Wellbeing employed by Wellways is responsible for supporting the establishment and ongoing day to day coordination of the Medicare Mental Health Centre across multiple locations.
This role will lead the provision of high-quality services that enable the people we support to achieve their health, social, emotional and practical needs. This will be done through collaboration with the people we support, their families, and carers. The role will also involve coaching and mentoring the Wellbeing and Peer Support team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to work positively with the people we support.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Providing leadership, coaching and supervision to the Wellbeing Team across multiple locations
Supporting recruitment, leading and overseeing a multidisciplinary team ensuring all members of the team have the necessary skills, support, and knowledge to carry out their role
Support lived experience leadership and advocacy
1:1 and Group interventions
Work closely with partner organisation’s health promotion and community engagement teams to broaden the reach and impact of the team’s activities
You will also need:
Demonstrated understanding of Community Development principles
Certificate IV/Diploma in a social science or related discipline or 2+ year relevant work experience in the Mental Health Sector or Intentional Peer Support Training

The Medicare Mental Health Centres will provide the community with a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services. Walk-ins will be welcomed, services are confidential, and no appointment or referral will be needed.
