Yard Associate
The ideal candidate for this role is a highly organized and communicative team player who can ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all yard operations. You will be a key part of our team, helping us get the right materials to the right customers on time.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations: Start each day by coordinating with the delivery team to review the schedule and priorities. Accurately pull and prepare materials for customer pickups and deliveries, making sure each order is clearly marked with the customer's name or job number.
Shipping and Receiving: Ensure the correct materials are shipped and received by carefully checking off each item against the delivery ticket. You will be responsible for noting any missing or damaged items. When loading trucks, you'll secure the material using tape or other approved methods.
Inventory Management: This is one of the most critical parts of the job. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory in the yard, including participating in weekly cycle counts. This also involves flat stacking and restacking lumber, re-banding materials as needed, and pulling any unusable lumber.
Yard Maintenance: Keep the yard clean, safe, and organized by picking up trash, banding, and other debris, both inside and outside the fences.
Communication: Proactive and clear communication is essential for success in this role. You will need to effectively communicate with the team about what has been completed, what needs to be done, and any important details regarding orders.
