Position: SPED Paraprofessional

Rate: up to $23 per hour

We've partnered with a fantastic school in Oakland, NJ, that is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Paraprofessional to join their team.

What You'll Do:

As a SPED Paraprofessional, you'll play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, working closely with the classroom teacher to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the implementation of instructional programs in reading, writing, mathematics, and other subjects

Providing one-on-one and small group support to reinforce concepts and skills

Helping students stay on task and implement accommodations outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Supporting positive behavior and helping students develop essential social skills

Collaborating with teachers and the Child Study Team to ensure student success

What You Will Bring:

A genuine love for working with children and a commitment to their growth and development

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff

The ability to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team

A willingness to learn and adapt to the unique needs of each student

Knowledge of child growth and development

Familiarity with specific handicapping conditions (preferred)

Experience working with children (preferred)

ABA experience (preferred)

Teacher Certification (preferred)

Willingness to ride the bus

A valid New Jersey Criminal Background Check and CPR/AED Certification (required)

CPI Certification (required)
