Job Overview
The Production team at Earthley is seeking a Production Team Lead who will oversee daily production operations and provide support to their team. This individual will coordinate make lists, verify batch accuracy, provide training to new team members, and troubleshoot equipment or workflow issues as they arise. The ideal candidate understands how to balance efficiency with quality, lead by example, and maintain an organized and productive work environment. We seek a proactive, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a collaborative setting.
Objectives of This Role
Ensure smooth daily operations of the production department.
Verify accuracy and consistency throughout the production process.
Train, mentor, and support production team members.
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient workstations.
Communicate effectively between production staff and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Create and adjust daily make lists using provided data.
Assign team members to projects and equipment.
Adapt plans as needed in response to call-offs, equipment malfunctions, or shifting priorities.
Verify batch production steps, confirming ingredient identity, weights, and accuracy in BPRs and Protracker.
Communicate with QA regarding batch discrepancies or issues.
Train and support team members on Earthley’s processes and new solutions.
Troubleshoot common equipment issues and escalate when needed.
Maintain planogram standards and ensure workstations are clean and organized.
Communicate needs for tools, supplies, or equipment to leadership.
Coordinate quarterly department organization reviews with leadership.
Share performance feedback and disciplinary concerns with supervisors
Skills and Qualifications
Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or team leadership.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt quickly and manage shifting priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment.
Commitment to maintaining high quality and consistency in production.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a natural wellness or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with batch production records (BPRs) or production tracking systems.
Prior training or mentoring experience.
Physical Requirements
General Physical Requirements:
Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
Lifting/Carrying: Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry items (commonly 25–50 lbs, occasionally up to 75–100 lbs with assistance).
Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands, wrists, and arms for tasks.
Climbing/Balancing: Occasionally climb step stools to access materials.
Stooping/Bending/Kneeling: Frequent bending, squatting, or kneeling to pick up materials or work at low levels.
Environmental Conditions:
Temperature Tolerance: Work in environments that may be hot, cold, humid, or dusty depending on the warehouse setup.
Noise: Ability to work around moderate to loud noise levels (hearing protection may be required).
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Comfortable wearing and working with PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, respirators if required).
Dexterity and Coordination:
Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination for operating machinery, handling materials, or assembling components.
Fine Motor Skills: Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate small parts or controls.
Visual Acuity: Sufficient vision to read labels, safety warnings, and operating instructions (corrective lenses allowed).
Endurance and Pace:
Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding work for long durations with scheduled breaks.
Pace: Work efficiently in fast-paced environments with time-sensitive tasks.
Safety & Emergency Readiness:
Response: Ability to quickly react to alarms, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards.
