The A3 unit is a dynamic 30-bed medical/surgical department where compassionate care is provided to a diverse patient population. With a strong emphasis on Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, we strive for optimal postoperative outcomes. Our team is energetic and collaborative, dedicated to fostering excellence in a fast-paced setting, supported by innovative technology.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Nurse in our A3 unit, you will demonstrate clinical competence by utilizing the nursing process to develop meaningful nurse-patient relationships. Your responsibilities will include assessing and identifying patient needs, creating and implementing comprehensive care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a recognized school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
One year of RN experience or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program; two or more years in a relevant clinical area preferred.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Connecticut.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
Willing to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Skills and Attributes:
Foundational knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, colleagues, and healthcare team members.
