Job DetailsJob LocationArrowhead Products - Los Alamitos, CASalary Range$38.48 - $38.48 HourlyJob Shift2nd ShiftJob Summary:The Journeyman Welder shall be knowledgeable of all aspects of welding.

Journeyman Welders perform the most difficult welds required specifically in titanium, welds requiring x-ray inspection, and other critical welds.

It is our intent that any welder classified as Journeyman be capable of performing such welds, including certifying in stainless steel, inconel as required by government, customer and company specifications.

The welder will be responsible for assisting, advising, and share job knowledge with other welders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:\nAssemble and weld aerospace products (flex joint). \nSet up and operate welding machines without technical assistance.

\nFollow manufacturing processes and procedures per MEP 1000-01.\nPerform at an acceptable quality and productivity level on all welding assignments.\nExecute tasks as assigned by shop management.\nWeld metal thicknesses from 0.010 to .250 inch.\nDirect and advise major maintenance on welding equipment.\nDirect and advise procurement of consumables for welding equipment.\nAssist, advise, and share job knowledge with other welders.

\nDevelop new weld schedules for welding machines as required by shop management or manufacturing engineering.\nInterpret engineering drawings and specifications necessary to perform welding task correctly.\nRecognize welding problems, troubleshoot and correct them accordingly.\nCapable of identifying and correcting weld defects according to production standards and/ or welding specifications.

\nCapable of manufacturing shop aides to facilitate welding as needed.

\nMust achieve internal certification for stainless steel, titanium, inconel, and aluminum alloy (as necessary) within 90 days.\nWill maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards.\nThis job description is not all inclusive of all duties.

Other duties may be assigned.\n\nSpecial requirements for Space:\nCapable of safely handling large, heavy parts.\nCapable of handling large, heavy fixtures and tooling.\nMust pass crane safety training.\nProvide guidance and job knowledge to other personnel assigned to the space department.\nSetup and operate semi-automatic Amet and Jetline welding machines and turntables.\nAchieve and maintain acceptable Quality, Utilization and Productivity goals as set by the Department Supervisor.\nSetup and interpret a weld purge monitor.

\nMust have the ability to set and use calibrated torque wrenches.\nKeep timely and accurate training records when applicable\n\nEducation and Experience:High School Diploma, Trade School Welding Certificate, or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be considered for education requirement.\nKnowledge, Skill and Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
