Description Purpose and Scope Material Handlers are part of a cross-functional, fully integrated team focused on storage, packaging and movement of product in support of operations, inventory accuracy and 100% on-time delivery.
This position is responsible to ensure that all work centers in the production environment are staged with the correct material to run scheduled jobs, inventory is properly labeled and organized and finished product is accurately counted and properly protected from shipping damage Responsibilities * To insure that all resources scheduled for production are not starved for material.
* Identify and maintain material staging areas that allow for adequate access for machine operators * Stage material in designated areas to ensure efficient machine operation.
* Comply with housekeeping policies and ensure designated areas and isles are free of clutter and compliant with corporate housekeeping policies * Maintain accurate counts on material and ensure the correct amount of designated material is allocated to the correct operation and resolve discrepancies * Storage areas are well organized and safe.
* Follow established procedures relating to inventory control and material handling functions * Use the corporate ERP and supplemental systems for appropriate material management functions * Stack, re-stack and organize material, machinery or product to accommodate operations and ensure safe storage * May perform other duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationships The Material Handler reports directly to the Traffic Manager.
The Material Handler does not have any direct reports.
Requirements Education and Training A high school degree or GED Certification on LP, battery and electric forklifts Special Skills The ability to communicate clearly using written and verbal communication The ability to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem The ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among sets of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects from 5-75 lbs.

Ability to kneel and stand on concrete floors up to 10 hours per day.
