Pay Range: $10hr - $15hr
Responsibilities:
Introduce and prepare biological specimens for laboratory processing.
Open specimens and pour into secondary containers for testing.
Verify patient demographic information against test requisition forms.
Enter patient information into computer systems for tracking and processing.
Meet production metrics and quality measures for timely and accurate results.
Unpack and route specimens to designated staging areas.
Pack and ship specimens to appropriate testing facilities when required.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Resolve and document any problem specimens.
Handle and dispose of medical and chemical waste according to safety guidelines.
Comply with environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
Operate automated laboratory instrumentation under supervision, as necessary. Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous medical or production experience preferred.
Proficient computer and typing skills.
Ability to handle human biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue).
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, work in protective equipment, and sit/stand for extended periods.
Strong eye-hand coordination for accurate specimen identification.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must successfully complete a standardized color vision test. Experience:
