Clarification from the agency This announcement is open to current, permanent DFAS employees in the competitive service and current DFAS VRA employees in the local commuting area and eligible DoD PPP Military Spouse preference applicants.

Duties Help * Responsible for the control, use and disposition of accountable property for the Site.

* Implements local governing policies, regulation instructions, and procedures for property accountability and depreciation of capital assets.

* Researches and resolves discrepancies in the system specific to the Site.

Reviews ELMS property deficiency reports and recommends/approves changes submitted to the ELMS Systems Administrator.

* Obtains delegation authority for new hand-receipt holders and briefs them on policies and procedures.

Monitors inventory control of hand receipts via ELMS.

* Documents accountable property transactions required by an APO, such as lateral transfers from one property book to another property book or transfers to a donation program or other DoD certified recipient.

* Provides data for use in the budget justification forecasting and capital assets depreciation process on a quarterly and annual basis.

Qualifications One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: utilizing established metrics in order to evaluate capital and operational assets belonging to a large-scale organization; OR assisting in the development of recommendations for management planning, inventory control, depreciation of assets, accountability, and the ultimate issue of supplies, equipment, or related inventory; OR reviews data analysis and deficiency reports on inventories to determine correct disposition or redistribution.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Must submit SF-50s to show Time-In Grade requirement has been met.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Education Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement ( may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.

Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.

* Telework availability is limited and will only be provided on a rare case-by-case basis during situations where Agency Leadership has determined that telework serves a compelling DoD need.
