Salary Range: $23.00 To $26.00 per hour, based on experience

We are currently seeking a QC Chemist to join our GFS Chemicals Family. This position will perform quality control product testing, maintain accurate batch/lot records, and assure products meet set specifications. Each day presents unique challenges as we strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology. The successful candidate will also participate in the development of new testing methods and processes working closely with end use customers and operations.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree with a science focus or equivalent work related experience in analytical testing, laboratory, or quality control
0-2 years' previous experience in analytical testing, laboratory or quality control required.

Experience and familiarity working in a lab

Strong problem-solving and analytical math skills including basic algebra
Familiarity with ISO and/or GMP regulations
Detail-oriented
Must be able to visualize small details and colors with or without corrective lenses
Daily activities:
Analyze samples from production, stock, and bought for resale chemicals according to GFS/ACS testing methods and specifications
Perform basic calibrations on equipment
Maintain and clean laboratory and equipment
Maintain and re-standardize laboratory reagents
Observe plant activities for quality compliance
Responsible for adhering to and contributing to improvements for all relevant ISO programs
Record results for all tests on QC worksheets, data entry to the ERP system, and certificate of analysis generation
Responsible for recording a pass/fail record and retaining/storing analyzed samples
Familiarity with wet chemistry
Daily use of the following lab equipment, which includes calibration and routine maintenance of machines such as:
pH Meter
Auto and manual titrations
Karl Fischer water analysis
Density Meter
ICP-OES
Moisture Analyzer
UV-Vis Spectrophotometer
Turbidity Meter
Chromatography
This is not a complete list, and analytical tools/instruments will vary dependent on the specific lab the incumbent is operating within
