The Role:
As Director of Purchasing, you will play a critical role in ensuring that a group of plants have the necessary resources to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.
You will be responsible for:
Managing spend and ensuring adherence to budgets while achieving cost reduction targets.
Partnering with internal stakeholders such as operations, engineering, and finance to understand their needs and provide effective procurement solutions.
Executing sourcing strategies at the plant level, leveraging market knowledge and supplier relationships to achieve optimal results.
Ensuring on-time delivery of parts from suppliers, maintaining a strong focus on supplier performance and delivery metrics.
Identifying and implementing cost reduction projects to improve company profitability and maintain a competitive advantage.
Supporting supplier development through training, mentoring, and collaboration to improve supplier performance and quality.
Reducing supplier lead times by developing effective communication channels and process improvements.
Managing inventory levels for purchased components, ensuring optimization to reduce risk and working capital.
Your Profile:
We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn and grow, embraces innovation, and values recognition for their contributions.
You should also have:
A Bachelor’s degree (Engineering highly preferred; Business, Finance, or Supply Chain also considered).
Minimum of 10 years of strategic sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in the automotive sector within a global, multi-site manufacturing environment.
Strong operations, finance, and strategic planning knowledge in building category strategies.
Proven track record in purchasing operations and continuous improvement environments.
Experience operating successfully in an agile, highly matrixed organization.
Expertise in multicultural negotiations, contracting, and supplier management activities.
Fluency in German and English (additional languages are a plus).
International travel experience.
