The Role
Job Overview
The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in the company’s supply chain, primarily responsible for the procurement and supply chain management of agricultural inputs, fertilizers, and related materials.
This position requires strong market insight, cost-control awareness, and negotiation skills to ensure an efficient, transparent, and compliant procurement process.
The Procurement Specialist coordinates with various departments (warehousing, sales, finance, and transportation) during peak agricultural input supply periods to ensure timely product delivery and adequate inventory, while continuously optimizing procurement strategies to support company growth.
Job Responsibilities
Develop monthly purchase demand plans based on sales plans and inventory status.
Identify and screen suppliers, negotiate prices, and conduct quality assessments.
Prepare and sign purchase contracts, and monitor delivery progress and payments.
Oversee transportation, warehousing, and fertilizer distribution to ensure timely delivery.
Assist the Finance Department in reconciling invoices, payments, and purchase documents.
Manage purchasing files and supplier databases, and regularly update supplier performance.
Coordinate with warehouse departments on goods receipt and dispatch, monitor inventory changes, and promptly replenish stock.
Gather market price and competitor information, and provide purchasing recommendations to management.
Participate in annual budget meetings and cost analyses, and propose optimization plans.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with laws, company policies, and safety standards.
Ideal Profile
Job Requirements
Preferred majors: Management, Economics, Agriculture, or Logistics.
Experience in procurement, supply chain, or distribution.
Familiarity with procurement procedures, contract management, billing, and payment processes.
Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Email).
Honest, able to handle stress well, and a good team player.
Background in the agricultural fertilizer industry or experience in supply chain management is preferred.
Willingness to adapt to field visits, supplier visits, and on-site inspections.
