The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute expanded in December 2014 to become the 3rd largest cancer hospital in the U.S. The extraordinary success of this new 398-bed state-of-the-art hospital has resulted in remarkable clinical growth and has created several opportunities for medical oncologists across the spectrum of solid tumor subspecialties. The Ohio State University is currently seeking oncology physicians at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor rank for a variety of roles in the areas of basic and translational research, education, and inpatient and outpatient care. High priority searches at this time are those who desire to focus their research and patient care in Breast Oncology.

At The Ohio State University, patients go to The Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center (SSCBC) for all of their breast cancer needs. The SSCBC was one of the first stand-alone breast cancer centers in the Midwest US and is one of the largest Breast Oncology centers in the country with 46 dedicated breast physicians (14 medical oncology, 10 breast radiologists, 7 surgical oncologists, 7 reconstructive breast surgeons, 5 radiation oncologists and 3 breast pathologists) within the SSCBC who see an average of more than 1000 new breast cancer patients per year. The SSCBC is located approximately 1 mile off the main campus and is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a diagnostic clinic, comprehensive breast imaging, a fully independent laboratory, an infusion center, and several supportive services including social work on-site, physical therapy and a Lymphedema Center of Excellence.

Currently, with 14 Breast Medical Oncologists, the OSU Breast Medical Oncology Section is one of the largest dedicated Breast Medical Oncology programs in the country and is seeking to hire additional Breast Medical Oncologists. Within Breast Medical Oncology, physicians are supported by an extensive team of advanced practice providers, skilled Magnet nursing professionals, and medical scribes. There are comprehensive translational and clinical trials research programs within Breast Medical Oncology with a robust trial portfolio.

Clinical Trials: More than 50 open clinical trials within the Breast Section including many early phase 1 and 2 clinical trials which utilize study resources at the SSCBC as well as in the OSU Clinical Trials Unit.

Retrospective Studies: More than 15 published manuscripts since its inception in 2019 and nearly 15 additional on-going retrospective analyses.

Translational Breast Cancer Research Program: This includes tissue/blood sample coordination, research genomic profiling, trial correlative support, and research collaboration opportunities.

Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology: A comprehensive bench-to-bedside OSU research initiative focused on harnessing the body's immune system to fight cancer at all levels - from prevention to treatment and survivorship. Current areas of programmatic focus include translational research, clinical research, inflammatory breast cancer, high-risk patient care, health disparities, breast immunotherapy, adolescent and young adult care including oncofertility and sexual health, geriatric care and survivorship.
