This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Background:

A BCI and FBI fingerprint check, a law enforcement background check, including a polygraph examination, may be required on all selected applicants.

Be in good standing with the college/university.

What You'll Do

Report in location: 2855 W. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235

Work Days and hours would vary depending on student’s schedule.

Major/field of study should be in:

Criminal Justice

Intelligence Studies

Political Science

Social Science Majors and related fields

Job duties:

· Identify and analyze informational databases, maps, spread sheets and reports.

· Develop products related to emerging threats and criminal trends (e.g. BOLOs, drug tips, subject profiles, situational awareness reports, etc.).

· Serve as a resource by responding to requests for information (RFI) in the areas of public safety to include, but not limited to, criminal intelligence and homeland security.

· Research, review and analyze problems related to criminal activity from agency personnel and other Intelligence Units.

· Assist with office-related tasks as they pertain to the functionality and operation of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Criminal Intelligence Unit.

· Prepare intelligence reports, products and briefings for presentation to partners and stakeholders.

· Conduct research, analyze data and develop materials related to AMBER Alerts and Blue Alerts, as well as other missing persons related incidents.

· Collect and analyze intelligence information and other resources to determine patterns, trends and movements of criminals to strategically and tactically aid law enforcement agencies.

· Conduct special analytical studies to support the agency.
