POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide information on financial products and services in accordance with all internal policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations. Responsible for evaluating and processing loan applications by gathering background information and assessing applicants' creditworthiness. Approve or deny loan applications based on analysis and operate within moderate credit authority.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct applicant interviews and obtain credit bureau reports to gather background information.
Assist applicants with completing the loan application process.
Review credit reports, verify debts, and calculate monthly payments for unlisted obligations.
Calculate debt-to-income ratios and distinguish between secured and unsecured debt.
Complete loan applications via phone and/or electronic channels.
Identify collateral requirements and develop payment plans for applicants.
Assess the eligibility of co-applicants based on credit history and documentation.
Evaluate consumer loan applications to determine creditworthiness and eligibility.
Approve or decline loan requests based on established criteria.
Present loan options and clearly explain terms and conditions.
Communicate reasons for loan denials professionally and provide guidance for future options.
Verify accuracy of loan amounts and repayment terms.
Cross-sell applicable lending products and financial services.
Demonstrate adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Maintain current knowledge of products, services, and relevant compliance regulations.
Achieve individual and team performance goals.
Participate in scheduled meetings, training sessions, and organizational events.
Proactively build knowledge of financial products, systems, policies, and organizational structure.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least one year of experience in consumer lending.
Minimum of two years of experience in a financial services environment.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Proficient in PC and technology applications.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
