IT Quality Assurance Engineer III

Location: San José, Costa Rica

World Kinect is seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Quality Assurance Engineer III to join our team in San José. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions through rigorous testing and continuous improvement.

Role Overview

As a QA Engineer III, you will design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of our software products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, refine requirements, and manage scalable automated testing frameworks. Your work will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our global technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement automated and manual test plans to validate software functionality and performance

Create and maintain project test plans, test cases, and test scripts

Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect counts, test results, and status reports

Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure features meet defined acceptance criteria

Document and assist in resolving software issues and defects

Analyze data for process evaluation and integrate improvements into business workflows

Collaborate with development, business, and support teams to ensure alignment on quality standards

Lead product demos and contribute to release documentation including FAQs and training materials

Apply lessons learned from problem management to enhance future testing strategies

Provide mentorship and leadership to junior QA team members

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing roles

Strong understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, and automation frameworks

Hands-on experience with tools such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms

Experience working in Agile environments

Excellent analytical thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Ability to work independently and handle complex issues with minimal supervision

Leadership skills and a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement
