An excellent opportunity exists to work for a government contractor with competitive compensation and work-life balance. Posterity Group is seeking experienced Phlebotomy Technician for the Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS.

Major Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

Adjusts equipment of laboratory testing, set up all necessary accessories and supplies regarding laboratory testing; ensures proper cleaning and minor maintenance of laboratory equipment

Informs the Team of critical changes in testing status and lab values

Ensures that all quality control materials are run and acceptable daily or as required by regulations; runs any proficiency specimens correctly and within required timeframe

Maintains all records for lab certification, point of care testing, and maintenance on laboratory machines, assigning proficiency tests, and monitors all survey results

Collects, labels, processes, stores, and either ships specimens that require reference lab testing or delivers to laboratory area that performs tests that are outside of the Health tech scope of testing or not performed at VA facilities

Monitors and documents temperature and humidity of room and equipment, refrigerators instruments etc. Performs daily, monthly maintenance as required and documents such appropriately

Organizes work so that efficiency is paramount and work area is neat, tidy, and meets all regulatory requirements for sanitization required for laboratory certification

Collects blood samples by venipuncture and accurately labels all blood tubes and other collection containers.

Phlebotomy Technician Necessary Information:

Will be assigned to the Blood Donor Center on Blood Drive days and the Main Laboratory on days they are not needed in the Blood Donor Center.

When assigned to the Blood Donor Center: The normal duty schedule for contractor personnel, apart from blood drive days, is Monday through Friday with a 9- hour workday between the hours of 0700-1800, to include a 1-hour non-billable lunch.

Blood Drives. During blood drive days, the duty schedule will vary. Contract personnel will be scheduled a 9-hour workday between the hours of 0300-2359, to include a 1- hour non-billable lunch, on scheduled blood drive days. There will be approximately two to four drives per week. Depending on blood donor turnout (during blood drives), lunches may be delayed to meet military contingency needs. Periodic travel is required for other than local blood drives, which may include multiple days at TDY locations. Requirements:

Proven work experience as a Phlebotomy Technician or similar role

Completion of a formal phlebotomy program

Current state certification to practice as a Phlebotomy Technician

Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and infection control standards

Proficient in relevant computer applications

Excellent communication and patient service skills

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

High school diploma or equivalent
