Job Details
As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and maintaining overall financial health. You'll collaborate closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and ensure efficient financial management across the organization.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred
Minimum of six years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail and advanced analytical/problem-solving abilities
Proven experience managing and developing staff
Adaptable and responsive to changing business needs
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to assess complex issues and propose practical, actionable solutions
Proactive mindset focused on driving process improvements and operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, plan, and coordinate all operational tasks within accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, and month-end closing
Manage and coach finance staff, setting clear goals and performance expectations
Oversee Accounts Receivable functions:
•Evaluate customer creditworthiness
•Implement standard operating procedures for collections
•Administer trade credit insurance
•Review and reconcile A/R aging reports
Oversee Accounts Payable functions:
•Manage payment selection and approval processes
•Review and reconcile A/P aging reports
•Reconcile PO Receive Not Vouchered reports
Maintain banking relationships and oversee cash management
Manage and execute monthly close processes:
•Ensure timely and accurate close within targeted timeframes
•Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
•Analyze financial reports and trends
•Maintain fixed asset records
•Assist with cost and inventory analysis
•Prepare year-end schedules for tax filings
Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual 401(k) audit
Complete and submit required U.S. Census Bureau surveys
Serve as the internal expert on the organization's ERP system
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal reporting standards in all financial outputs
