Respite Care Provider – Life Skills Development
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable individual to provide respite care for a bright, energetic young girl with autism and ADHD. This part-time role goes beyond basic supervision—it’s an opportunity to mentor and guide her as she builds confidence, independence, and practical life skills.
As a Respite Care Provider, you will work closely with the child in her home, supporting engaging routines and hands-on learning experiences that foster growth in a safe, nurturing environment.
Location: Care provided in the child’s home
Compensation: $18.42/hour
Schedule: Flexible, arranged in advance with parent/guardian
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 supervision in a safe, supportive environment.
• Assist and teach daily living skills, including hygiene routines, meal preparation, and light household tasks.
• Support the child in gaining independence using positive reinforcement and step-by-step guidance.
• Encourage social-emotional growth through structured play, consistent routines, and engagement.
• Build a warm, trusting relationship with the child.
• Maintain open communication with the family to share progress and insights.
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience supporting children with disabilities or neurodiverse needs (autism and/or ADHD preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and consistency.
• Ability to follow and adapt individualized care plans.
• Comfortable teaching and encouraging life skills in a structured, step-by-step manner.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Requirements
• Must pass a caregiver background check.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Passion for working with youth and making a meaningful impact.
