HC - Activities Assistant
Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Activity Director in planning of events, outings, games and exercises for the residents.
Assist the Activity Director with school, community, and church groups as they visit the residents.
Assist in conducting resident meeting/resident council.
Visit and conduct quality 1:1 activities with a focus on those with Dementia and/or residents that have limited mobility.
Co-Chair community programs with the Activity Director
Assist in announcing, promoting, and conducting activity events
Assist the Activity Director in maintaining individualized description of each resident's preferences, hobbies, and interests.
Document/record keeping on patient's participation.
Attend to the environment, use of supplies and equipment, and maintenance of storage areas.
Assist with passing monthly calendars, passing mail, decorating, outings, special events and other duties as needed.
Assist in the set-up of the planned activity
Assist with the transport of residents to the activity.
Remind nursing staff and residents of scheduled activity
Ability to work independently and follow scheduled plans and continue the activity program in the absence of the Activity Director.
Attend KAHCF Activity training to established competency
Complete shopping as needed for the resident.
Must be flexible to work weekends and evening hours when activities are taking place.
Other duties as assigned by the Administrator that involves resident, staff, family, and community activities and/or involvement.
Qualifications:
Pass background checks are required by the nursing facility
CNA preferred but not required.
Completion of high school or above is preferred
Must have good verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer skills
