A dairy operation in Texas is searching for a Heifer Manager. The Heifer Manager is responsible for overseeing the health and well-being of the older heifers and the employees who work with them daily in this area. A well-raised heifer with fewer problems will make a more productive cow in the future. This person will ensure that the heifers are taken care of each day and handled with care and respect. In addition, it is the Heifer Manager's responsibility to incorporate the culture and core values of the dairy into the daily operations of the business.

Hire, Manage, and Train Employees to do Their Own Daily Jobs
Provide Feedback to Employees through Constant Communication
Assist with Monthly Employee Meetings, Reviewing Goals and Results
Review Health, Reproduction, and Growth Results with your Team regularly
Take the Lead on Producer Plus Training Program
Cattle Health and Movements
Ensure treatment Protocols and Vaccination programs are Implemented Correctly
Work with Vet during Pregnancy Check and Bangs Vaccination
Oversee Movement of Heifers after Five Months of Age (Training Pens, Breeding, Shipments)
Ensure Animal Welfare Issues are Addressed Immediately with Management
Administrative
Ensure all DC305 Records are updated Daily
Update Results PPT for Break Room
Prepare weekly reports to send out to Dairy Managers
Assist with Monthly Billing and Inventory
Other Responsibilities
Work with the Team to Keep Pens in Good Working Condition
Work with the Maintenance Manager on Equipment Maintenance in your Areas of Responsibility
Meet with the Manager and the Nutritionist during the Nutritionist Visit every other Week
Relief in the Hutches on the Calf Manager's Day Off
