Indirect Material Coordinator - Apprentice

Role Summary/Purpose

This is an excellent opportunity to join GE Vernova in the UK on a modern apprenticeship program. The successful candidate will gain a Level 3 Business Admin qualification on completion.

In this position you will manage indirect material requests (such as tools, PPE, and consumables). Specific responsibilities will be related to supply chain process - from managing requests, following up with suppliers, coordinating logistics among warehouses and keeping internal customers up to date regarding their requests.

Essential Responsibilities

Analyze orders and estimate delivery dates at destination based on availability, lead times, and transit times.

Assisting with sourcing requests

Help to assist coordinate inbound/outbound logistics for tools and material through detailed planning

Communicate and interface regularly with warehouses to clarify/prioritize picking and preparation for shipment

Manage calibrations/repairs of tools in asset management system with internal and external stakeholders

Updating calibration certificates from suppliers to the in-house system Go Codes

Training users on Go Codes

Preparing purchase orders for suppliers / vendors

Arranging transport and reporting on transportation spends

Skills and Knowledge

Possess a strong commitment and enthusiasm to the role and the apprenticeship.

Have a confident personality with good verbal and written communication skills.

Be highly self-motivated, be able to work in a small team and independently.

Have good problem-solving abilities.

Experience of common Microsoft packages and good IT skills.

High degree of flexibility, extremely motivated with the ability to work under pressure.

Positive mindset and “can do” attitude

Proven ability to work in a cross-functional departments / teams

Fluency in English
