POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Professor of Nursing to join our academic team. This role involves delivering high-quality clinical SIMs, lab, and classroom education in various nursing disciplines to prepare our students for success in their future careers. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of nursing principles and the ability to convey these concepts to students with clarity and enthusiasm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide array of nursing clinical courses depending on expertise such as OB, Pediatrics, ICU, and Medical Surgical Nursing,
Engage students through dynamic facilitation methods and foster an environment conducive to learning.
Assess student performance through assignments, projects, simulations, and clinicals providing constructive feedback.
Maintain office hours to offer additional support and guidance to students as needed
QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION:
Masters degree or above
Adjunct faculty could enter with a BSN if enrolled in a Masters program and able to earn a minimum of six graduate-level credits per year (January to December). A faculty mentor/lead instructor is required for this scenario.
Registered Nurse holding a valid, non-restricted license to practice in the State of Oklahoma
Minimum of two years nursing work experience
Prior teaching experience in Nursing highly preferred
Strong foundation and practical knowledge in various nursing areas, as indicated by the courses to be taught
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles
Flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Web conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet)
Exam software (e.g., Kaplan). Training provided, if needed.
Simulation Lab experience preferred
Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L)
Preference given to a candidate with experience in Artificial Intelligence in a Higher Education setting
