TLC Nursing Associates, Inc.

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist - CVOR to assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures. This role requires expertise in sterile techniques, cardiovascular instrumentation, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and successful surgical outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment for cardiovascular operating room procedures.

Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during complex cardiac and vascular surgeries.

Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies specific to CVOR procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, and vascular grafting.

Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team to ensure efficiency and safety.

Handle surgical specimens appropriately for analysis.

Monitor and maintain surgical equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Ensure adherence to infection control, sterile processing, and hospital safety standards.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.

Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.

Previous CVOR or cardiac surgery experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile techniques.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to remain focused and calm in high-pressure surgical environments.
