Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Federal Sales to lead our Federal Sales team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong background in federal procurement, sales leadership, and customer relationship management. The ideal candidate will be passionate about driving growth, mentoring teams, and navigating the complexities of the federal marketplace.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Federal Sales professionals to exceed performance goals.
Drive sales of Cisco and other OEM solutions to federal agencies and offices.
Manage the federal sales pipeline with precision—forecasting, tracking, and closing deals.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Contracts, and Proposals teams to deliver compliant and competitive RFP/RFQ responses.
Navigate federal procurement vehicles (GSA, IDIQ, GWACs) and ensure FAR/DFARS compliance.
Monitor federal market trends, funding priorities, and policy shifts to uncover new opportunities.
Support Outside Sales Executives in pre-sales activities and customer engagements.
Deliver exceptional service to federal clients, building long-term relationships.
Coordinate with internal departments and external manufacturer support to ensure seamless execution.
Manage multiple purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.
Uphold confidentiality and compliance with company policies and standards.
Stay current with technical training, certifications, and product knowledge.
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field
5+ years of federal sales experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
Proven track record of successfully selling to federal agencies, consistently meeting or exceeding multi-million-dollar quotas
Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, acquisition strategies, and contracting vehicles (e.g., GSA, IDIQ, GWACs)
Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales pipeline management tools
Location: Must reside in the DMV area

What Sets You Apart
Experience with Oracle NetSuite
Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (such as FedRAMP, NIST, CMMC)
Experience working with or within a federal agency or system integrator
Hands-on sales management experience and proven ability to develop and motivate sales team members
