The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking to fill up to eight (8) Attorney 4 positions in the Legal Division.

What You’ll do as an Attorney 4:

Conducts administrative hearings on the most difficult assessment, refund, or exemption cases within the ODT

Writes final determinations conveying the Tax Commissioner’s final decision and legal reasoning of an administrative appeal case

Analyzes and makes recommendations on settlement offers related to administrative appeal cases

Conducts legal research, prepares reports and memos, and provides legal advice to ODT teams and other state and local agencies and officials

Provides support and completes additional duties as cases move through the higher court appeals process

Responds to inquiries from internal and external customers and provides excellent customer service

Helps support and train other ODT attorneys, administrative staff, and interns

Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 mos. exp. as licensed attorney; 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development.
