Fresh Start Foods Canada Ltd. was founded in 1993 to provide Foodservice Customers with a fresh alternative. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Warehouse Supervisor - Night Shift to join our team based out of our London, Ontario location.
Position: Full-Time, Permanent.
Wage: Starting from $23.50/hour.
Schedule: 7:30pm - 5:00am. Sunday night through Saturday morning, with Saturday and another weekday off (day off is dependent on business need and is subject to change).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes and maintains productivity standards for all warehouse job functions to the team’s efficiency
Responsible for managing the balance between volume/staff levels and thru-put
Responsible for the proper inventory, storage, receiving, rotating, and shipping of all produce and similar items.
Responsible for the management and tracking of product waste and ways to reduce waste
Identifies variances in actual costs vs. budgeted costs and identifies methods for reducing costs
Examines and implements methods for reducing costs in all aspects of the warehouse to achieve a continual reduction in costs per case
Retrieve orders from the answering service as needed, the route runs, and print picking slips as required
Ensures good employee/supervisor relations through consistent application of policies throughout the shift
Conducts shift meetings to ensure staff is kept up to date on company and department matters as well as inventory issues and areas of concern.
Handles disciplinary problems within the department by investigating the problem with all parties involved and following positive discipline procedures
Determines long-term skill requirements for the department and develops staff to meet long-term needs
Responsible for overseeing the training program for all new staff members
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
1-3 years experience managing a warehouse department
1-3 years operations experience in material handling
Must have experience in the distribution/handling of produce or food products.
Able to take a proactive approach to customer service and build strong relationships with all levels of customers
Excellent leadership, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
Strong PC skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office software, email systems, website product ordering.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have a valid license for operating counter-balance, forklift, and electric pallet jacks
