RTR Senior Accountant Cork (Statutory Accountant)

General Job Requirements:

Reporting to the RTR Senior Manager, Global Financial Solutions (GFS), we are seeking a highly skilled accountant with experience in the preparation and review of Financial Statements in a fast paced multinational environment. The role is central to ensuring compliance with IFRS and other local statutory requirements as well as supporting the co-ordination of activities across multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate filing.

Job duties include:

Preparation and review of statutory financial statements for multiple entities within a fast paced multinational environment

Contributing to the continued development and expansion of the centralized financial statement function.

Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, Companies Act and other regulatory obligations

Monitor changes in accounting standards across jurisdictions and ensure implementation of best practices

Lead and co-ordinate activities of multiple stakeholders within agreed timelines

The development of strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence diverse audiences.

Contribution to the definition and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) and the establishment of a continuous improvement culture

Interacts successfully with internal and external auditors and supports quarter-end, interim and year-end audits by providing timely and accurate data and communication.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different cultures

Review of VAT & Intrastat calculations per VAT registration and oversight of related filings

Ability to travel is necessary.

Knowledge, experience, competencies:

Qualified Chartered Accountant or person with an equivalent accountancy qualification with a strong track record in the area of preparation and review of financial statements across multiple jurisdictions

Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, working under pressure to meet strict reporting deadlines

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different cultures

Experience managing statutory accounts for a portfolio of legal entities, including dormant, trading, and holding companies.

Strong understanding of statutory disclosures and ability to draft high-quality notes to financial statements.

Experience of filing statutory accounts with relevant authorities (e.g., CRO, Companies House, etc.) and liaising with external providers.

Comfortable working with financial statement preparation tools and templates and improving their use.

Ability to collaborate with tax teams to ensure alignment between statutory accounts and tax filings.

Working knowledge and experience of Oracle / SAP or similar ERP product

Working knowledge and experience of Thompson Reuters Financial Statement Tool/Workiva or similar statutory reporting tool

Self-starter and able to act on own initiative, with high levels of integrity, excellence and teamwork

Ability to Interacts successfully with non-financial personnel as well as with internal and external auditors

Strong technical accounting skillset and comfortable working with technical accounting matters.

This role requires a flexible and adaptable individual, an individual who has strong peripheral vision to allow them to capture accounting related matters in established markets and work closely with the multiple stakeholders to ensure compliance.

Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required.

Proven analytical ability and creative problem- solving skills.

Ability to travel is necessary.
