Founded in 1970, Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger, collaborating with organizations throughout Ohio to provide nutritious meals to at-risk children who need them most. CHA partners with in-home childcare providers, childcare centers, afterschool, and summer programs to provide balanced, nutritious meals to children in their care. Additionally, they work with schools to increase breakfast participation and provide weekend meals to students. CHA educators also deliver nutrition education and lead children in physical activities to support children’s long-term health.
Job Purpose:
Process provider, center and site documentation submitted to the Claims Department to secure claim reimbursements for meals served in the CACFP sponsored Food Service Nutrition programs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and process submitted documentation, input claim information into the State CRRS system, issue claim reimbursement payments and adjustments
Process claims for reimbursement in compliance with USDA, ODE, and CHA regulations.
Complete daily administrative tasks including, responding to, and drafting emails, and fielding questions/concerns via the Delivery Hotline to ensure all delivery matters are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Provide customer service to vendors, internal team members, and others.
Responding to questions and requests, including explaining and/or researching departmental processes and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
1-3 years’ experience in Claims entry, general office processes and procedures and other job-related duties
High school diploma or equivalent
High level of attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment including fax machine, copier, scanner, computer, etc.
Aptitude for quickly learning new software applications
Requires minimal supervision or training to complete job responsibilities
Works well with diverse individuals, in a team and/or independently within framework of guidelines and procedures
Works well with numbers, has strong math skills
Shows initiative in taking on new tasks and meeting departmental goals
Team player, resilient, and positive
