Augustwenty is looking for an high-performing business development leader with a strong track record of driving revenue in the service industry. This hands-on role requires a technically minded advisor and relationship builder who can open doors and build trust with prospective and existing clients, serving as the initial strategic voice clients trust to help them navigate the complexity of industry trends and connect them with the right solutions and teams.
Job Summary
As the Director of Business Growth at augustwenty, you will be directly responsible for end-to-end sales execution and year-over-year revenue growth through large-scale, service-based technology consulting engagements. This is a quota-carrying leadership role with clear accountability for identifying, closing, and expanding multi-six- to seven-figure consulting engagements.
You must bring a track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing new business in the technology services or consulting industry. You will operate as a strategic advisor to prospective clients, positioning our services as tailored solutions to business-critical challenges.
Responsibilities
Originate new business: Independently identify, engage, and convert net-new consulting opportunities through outbound outreach, referral networks, and event participation.
Own the full sales lifecycle: Manage deals from lead generation through qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and contract signing-without handoff.
Develop proposals and scopes: Lead the creation of statements of work, proposals, and project scopes in collaboration with delivery and solutioning teams.
Translate business needs into services: Demonstrate deep understanding of client business objectives and map those to clearly defined service offerings.
Build and sustain executive relationships: Develop and maintain high-trust relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Product, and other senior technology stakeholders.
Lead strategic outreach efforts: Design and execute targeted outreach strategies across email, social, events, and networking to secure meetings and progress deals.
Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute lead generation campaigns that support pipeline growth goals.
Required Skills & Experience
We'd love to talk with candidates who have the following:
7+ years of experience selling professional services, consulting, or custom software development.
Direct experience closing 6- and 7-figure deals with enterprise or mid-market clients in a consultative, solution-oriented sales model.
Proven ability to build a sales pipeline from scratch, without reliance on inbound leads, and to independently close new business.
Experience creating tailored proposals and scopes of work in partnership with technical teams.
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex buying groups and conduct executive-level conversations with technical and business stakeholders.
A personal network of decision-makers and influencers in the technology or consulting space that can be activated for business development.
Ability to operate in high-trust, low-structure environments-self-motivated, accountable, and goal-driven.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions, present proposals, and lead negotiations.
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
Prior experience in a delivery or technical consulting role (i.e. solution architect, pre-sales engineer) in addition to traditional sales.
Familiarity with agile delivery models and enterprise software development lifecycle.
