Clinical Lead - Oncology

Alexandra Hospital

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Lead - Oncology to join their team of staff in the Oncology department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Lead the delivery of safe and effective care to oncology patients, including those undergoing

chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, radiotherapy, and palliative care.

• Ensure adherence to national oncology guidelines (e.g., UKONS, NICE), protocols, and

treatment pathways.

• Oversee compliance with all regulatory, professional, and organisational standards, including

those from CQC, HIS, HIW, and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

• Provide clinical supervision, coaching, and mentorship for nurses and support staff,

promoting ongoing professional development.

• Work with consultants, pharmacy, and external partners to streamline services and enhance

the patient experience.

• Promote a compassionate and personalised approach to care, respecting the physical,

emotional, and psychosocial needs of cancer patients and their families.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.

• Specialist experience in oncology nursing, including SACT administration.

• Recognised qualification in oncology nursing or cancer care (e.g. UKONS SACT Passport,

chemotherapy competency).

• Strong leadership and people management experience.

• Excellent clinical decision-making, communication, and coordination skills.

• Working knowledge of clinical governance, cancer pathways, and patient safety principles.
