We are hiring a Pediatric Private Duty LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in the New Orleans area to provide pediatric private duty care. Case Specific Enhanced Pay Rates are available with 8-12 shifts. We offer FT/PT hours, flexible schedules, and weekly pay!

Job Summary

The Personal Care Services Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse is responsible for: (1) providing direct nursing care as prescribed by the physician to acutely ill, and/or chronically ill patients in their homes; (2) recording clinical and progress notes; and (3) coordinating other patient care activities/services to provide the highest quality of patient care in the geographic service area to which she/he is assigned. She/he works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or designated supervisor. Nursing activities are limited to those in compliance with the State LPN/LVN Practice Act, any applicable licensure/certification requirements and agency policies and procedures.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

Provides direct skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the plan of care.

Utilizes the E.V.V. (Electronic Visit Verification) program as applicable. Records clinical and progress notes at the time of the visit to ensure continuity of qualitative patient care in a timely basis.

•Prepares equipment and material for use according to the plan of care, practicing appropriate procedure technique, including Administers medications as prescribed by a physician and permitted by law. • Assists with teaching the patient and/or family members regarding the patient care needs and other related problems of the patient at home.

Ensures confidentiality of patient records/information. • Attends team meetings and staff meetings to enhance team communication and coordination of quality services • Observes, records, and reports (1) signs and symptoms; (2) reactions to treatments and medications; and (3) any change in the patient's physical or emotional condition in a timely matter to the Registered Nurse and physician as applicable.

Participates in the organization's Performance Improvement and Compliance programs and adheres to policies and procedures.

All other duties assigned.

Educational Requirements

• Must meet educational/experience requirements outlined in the laws of licensure states.

• A minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience preferred; previous home care experience preferred.

• Must have current LPN licensure in state of practice.

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.

• Current CPR certification required.

License Requirements

Experience Requirements

Previous home care experience preferred

Additional state Specific Requirements

• LA: Current LPN Licensure in LA without restrictions. At a minimum, one (1) year of experience working as an LPN.
