Service Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Service Manager to lead their heavy equipment service operations in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong mechanical knowledge, proven team management skills, and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee shop and field service operations, including equipment repair, reconditioning, warranty work, and rental fleet maintenance.

Direct service department objectives related to employee productivity, customer satisfaction, profitability, and market growth.

Develop, implement, and monitor performance standards, efficiency reports, and safety programs.

Recruit, hire, and train service personnel while ensuring ongoing technical and professional development.

Lead regular meetings and training sessions to communicate company objectives, build technical skills, and foster employee growth.

Monitor departmental performance against established goals; provide coaching, corrective actions, and disciplinary measures as needed.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.

Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver consistent, high-quality service.

Qualifications

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Solid background in heavy equipment operations, repair processes, and shop management.

Proven supervisory or management experience in a service or repair environment.

Ability to forecast, plan, and execute departmental objectives effectively.

Working knowledge of safety programs, compliance standards, and shop layout/efficiency principles.

Proficient with computers and service management systems.
