Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of our Material Recovery Facility (MRF). This vital role entails performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting various equipment, and ensuring all systems run efficiently. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct planned maintenance inspections and diagnose, repair, and rebuild key production equipment including conveyors, motors, hydraulic systems, and more.

Perform necessary repairs on plant production and support equipment as needed.

Maintain inventory control of maintenance parts and collaborate with outside vendors for effective troubleshooting.

Clear jams and clogs to ensure uninterrupted machinery operations.

Replenish fluids and components of machinery for optimal performance.

Set priorities for maintenance work and adjust procedures to align with production needs.

Complete initial inspections and accurately diagnose defects in equipment.

Create work orders and assess completed repair work.

Engage in complex hydraulic tasks and fabrication projects.

Identify and rectify issues in both light and heavy-duty mechanical equipment.

Read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.

Provide guidance to others and review their work effectively.

Oversee the quality of repairs and recommend improvements for equipment performance and product quality.

Respond promptly to emergency breakdown service calls.

Be flexible with your schedule, including potential evenings and weekends to support operations.

Qualifications:

Strong foundation in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in specific trades such as welding or mechanics.

Ability to troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems and motors.

Knowledge of automotive repair principles and preventative maintenance practices.

Valid driver’s license and forklift training preferred.

Capable of performing hands-on maintenance tasks safely and effectively.

Able to work independently, managing multiple priorities.

Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Physical Demands: You will frequently stand, walk, and lift items weighting up to 100 pounds. Adaptability is key in various work environments.
