Contracted Academic Tutor

Overview The Chumash Learning Center offers a vibrant, welcoming place for Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians community members to gather for Homework Club and to encourage lifelong learning with Academic Tutor support.

Students' drop-in to get assistance in various subjects to enhance their understanding and performance, in-person or remotely.

Tutors encourage positive student behavior and participation during study and group activities.

Responsibilities * Tutoring in a one-on-one or group setting while assisting with homework assignments, projects and test preparation.

* Monitor and track student(s) progress, by providing regular feedback to the Education * Department, student(s), parent(s). * Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.

* Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to establish and maintain a trusting and positive relationship with students and parents.

* Stay updated on curriculum changes * CPR Training * Follow confidentiality procedures.

Qualifications * Master's degree or teaching credential issued * Previous related experience working with children in a supervised setting.

* Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.

* Must be able to multi-task.

* Must agree to a Live Scan background check.

Location 100 Via Juana Drive Minimum Pay Rate $35.00 per hour Maximum Pay Rate $55.00 per hour
