What You'll Do: Under the direction of the Communications Director, performs various communications-related activities to support the Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Office of Communications: * Support events, activities & initiatives supported, managed or initiated by the Office of Communications; * Assist with MyOhio enterprise website to include writing, editing & posting new content & reviewing, updating & moving existing content; * Assist with DAS intranet site performing writing, editing, moving & posting content; * Photograph and take video of people & events; * Gather information & write internal communications (e.g., news articles for agency newsletter, content & messages for the enterprise & agency intranet, & agency email messages); * Gather information & write news releases on an as-needed basis.
* Gather information & write content for DAS social media sites * Conducts research for agency internal and external communications needs as assigned.
Performs other related duties, as needed: works on special projects; provides assistance with administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications: Enrolled in a Post-Secondary Institution pursuing a degree or credential Job Skills: Written Communication, Oral Communication, Creativity Attention To Detail Knowledge of: * Agency & state government policies & procedures* * English composition & grammar * Journalism Skill in: * Use of personal computer & associated hardware/software (e.g., MS Office Suite)* Ability to: * Carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions * Deal with many variables & determine specific course of action; * Use proper research methods in gathering data; * Gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; * Copy materials accurately & recognize grammatical & spelling errors.
