International Elementary Magnet School Additional Information: Show/Hide Reports To: Principal/Director or Designee Performance Evaluation: Principal/Director or Designee Terms of Employment: Based on the NLEA Contract Primary Function: The TESOL/MLL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages/Multi-Lingual Learners) Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students who are English language learners (ELLs). This role involves helping students acquire the English language skills necessary for academic success and social integration.

The TESOL/MLL Teacher will work with students to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities in English, in alignment with state and district standards.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities: * Deliver engaging and effective ESL instruction that meets the academic needs of diverse learners.

* Assess students' English language proficiency and monitor their academic progress.

* Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure integrated support for ELLs across all subject areas.

* Adapt lessons and teaching methods to cater to the varying language levels and learning styles of students.

* Provide individualized support to students as needed, ensuring access to the curriculum and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

* Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance.

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and involve them in the learning process.

* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in TESOL/MLL instruction.

* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.

Required Qualifications: * Valid State of Connecticut Certification (111) or 009/023 certification, or eligibility for CT certification.

* Strong commitment to helping students achieve language proficiency and academic success.
