M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Substation Electrical Engineer at our Spring Branch, Texas location to perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of substation design.
Duties & Responsibilities * Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 345kV.
* Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements, specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material * Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed * Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met * Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required Requirements * 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in Power is preferred) * Minimum of 5 years applicable post-graduation substation design experience * Current PE License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills * Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements * Ability to travel * Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product * Proficiency using AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite * Self-starter * Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects * Work independently or in a team environment * Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs * Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required Benefits: * Salary commensurate with experience * Employer paid health/dental/vision insurance * Employer paid STD/LTD * Life Insurance * Candidate referral bonus * 401k retirement plan with employer match * Paid Holidays * Earned vacation time
