ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Develop and present curriculum that provides students with an experience in the art form that is age appropriate and challenges students to achieve at the highest level * Work with students from diverse backgrounds to educate and improve skills * Assess student's progress by grading assignments * Organize and present a culminating event that represents the quality of work undertaken over the course of the semester * Collaborate with colleagues to develop and/or modify curriculum as needed to meet changing industry trends and college initiatives REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING * Degree in music, music education, and/or equivalent experience * Knowledge of effective strategies for integrating students with varying stages of music and jazz/contemporary music education pedagogy.
