Position: Meat Department Manager

The Meat Manager plays a vital role in upholding these standards, overseeing the Meat department to ensure exceptional quality, excellent customer service, and efficient daily operations. From handmade sausages to USDA Prime beef, you'll lead a team that embodies Joseph's commitment to excellence.
Routine Tasks:
Lead and inspire the Meat department team to deliver exceptional customer service
Ensure product freshness and strict adherence to sanitation and safety protocols
Provide hands-on training to all new and existing associates to ensure knowledge, consistency, and efficiency
Deliver excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making tailored recommendations; train staff to do the same
Manage departmental budgets, including sales goals, profit margins, labor costs, and supply expenses
Write and manage labor schedules to meet business needs
Manage ordering and inventory to minimize waste and avoid out-of-stock situations
Maintain, replenish, and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
Package, label, and verify signage and pricing accuracy for all self-service items
Cut and prepare meat products to Joseph's specifications
Take and fulfill custom/special orders for customers
Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and prep surfaces consistently
Operate and maintain knives, scales, band saws, grinders, wrapping machines, and other Meat equipment
Assist with other duties as assigned by store leadership
Qualifications:
Prior experience in meat, grocery, or food service leadership preferred
Proven ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and hold team members accountable
Strong understanding of profit and loss management and income statements
Keen attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and follow instructions accurately
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Passion for serving others and delivering a premium food experience
A Meat Department Manager performs their tasks primarily in the Meat department. Must have the ability to clearly articulate the company's goals and follow up on tasks and projects to achieve those goals. Must be able to resolve conflicts and promote a positive environment where all department associates enjoy coming to work. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 80 pounds. Work may be done inside Meat preparation room and Meat Refrigerated Cooler, you will be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work also includes frequent interaction with customers and fellow employees.
